What Christmas traditions do you have?

Whether its Christmas eve boxes, to Dressing up in 'best' clothes and carol singing or enjoy Christmas Fairs with friends. Even in the crazy world there are some traditions that continue.

One tradition we have is the Christmas tree with light, decorations collected over the years and a colour scheme. The smell of the tree, lights shimmering and reflecting, the feathery texture of the tinsel, spiky pine needles. Its a sensory feast for our household which is loved and requested earlier each year.

The origins of the Christmas tree come from the Victorian era. Queen Victoria married Prince Alfred and he brought the Christmas tree over from Germany. It soon became a popular to put up Christmas trees. Even with the changes over the years the Victorian started decorated their trees which included candles, toys and popcorn string not too distant for the decoration you can see today.
